Make Sure You Have The Proper Packing Supplies
You will need a variety of packing supplies to wrap, cushion and seal your goods. The first and most important packing tip is to make sure to have a plentiful amount of
packing supplies on hand to avoid your valuables from becoming breakables. All of your boxes should be packed with things that go together and should be clearly labeled with contents as well as the room destination for easy unloading and unpacking. Priority and fragility of box contents should be clearly labeled on all side of the box. Our color coded Smart Move packing tape has the room printed right on the tape allowing you to tape and label your boxes in one quick step. These labels make sure boxes are easily identifiable and will reduce the amount of time it will take you to unload the truck.
Packing Moving Boxes
A word of advice when it comes time to pack: wrap fragile items separately before placing them in the box and always line the bottom of the box with either bubble or foam wrap for extra cushioning. Use cushioning materials like bubble wrap, foam sheets and packing paper to fill in the open spaces in the boxes to minimize breakage. Use ink free packing paper to wrap any of your breakable items or to line the bottom or top of your boxes for additional cushioning. All the seams of the box should be taped with 2-inch box tape. For heavier boxes, you should also apply tape in the opposite direction for added support. Pack boxes so you can easily lift them on the day of the move. Even though you may be able to pack the box with 50 pounds of items, you may only be able to lift half that much. Determine a box weight that you can handle, keeping in mind that it shouldn’t exceed 50 pounds. A good rule to pack by: Put heavier items in smaller boxes and lighter items in larger boxes to control the weight. We’ve packed a lot of packing tips on this page.
